Change in Commerzbank's Board of Managing Directors - Martin Zielke appointed as Member of the Board of Managing Directors

The Supervisory Board of Commerzbank today appointed Martin Zielke as Member of the Board of Managing Directors of Commerzbank. Zielke, 47, is taking over responsibility for the business segment Private Customers on the Board of Managing Directors with immediate effect. Following six years with responsibility for the business segment Private Customers the 44-year-old Achim Kassow will focus on the Business Segment Central & Eastern Europe in future. "Now that major milestones in the integration of the private customers business have been reached, it is time to put the business in Central and Eastern Europe on a sustainable growth path", says Martin Blessing, Chairman of the Board of Managing Directors of Commerzbank.

Zielke has been responsible for Group Finance for more than two years as a Member of the Divisional Board. Prior to this the graduate in business management held a number of senior positions in the group - including that of the Group Head in the corporate and private customer business as well as CFO of Eurohypo. Before moving to Commerzbank in 2002 he held managerial functions in the private customer business of Dresdner Bank and in the Deutsche Bank Group. "Martin Zielke will be aided in his new task by his vast wealth of experience and competence. He occupied a senior position in private client business over many years and held responsibility for customers at regional level over a long period. We are very pleased to be able to welcome him on the Board of Managing Directors", says Martin Blessing.
