The bank was also runner-up for ‘Best Trade Finance Bank in Western Europe’
Commerzbank has been voted as the top documentary processing bank and the top trade bank in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) by leading magazine Global Trade Review (GTR).
Commenting on the awards, Christoph Gabriel Maetze, Member of the Executive Management Board, says: “Over the last two decades, Commerzbank’s trade finance has supported the emerging economies of Central and Eastern Europe and we have also grown our presence in Western Europe – building on our position as the leading bank for the German SME sector. We ensure the high quality in our trade processing capabilities through continuous investments in our technical systems and people. In this respect, our trade processing centres are vital in ensuring global trade across time zones.”
It marks the third consecutive year Commerzbank has won GTR’s ‘Best Trade Finance Bank in CEE’ award. Holger Kautzky, Head of Financial Institutions for CEE, says: “Our track-record in these awards is testament to our commitment to Central and Eastern Europe – both a key market for us, and a region that benefits from Commerzbank’s support, of course, within the current regulatory framework. Our strong presence has rested on our networks of partner institutions, enabling on-the-ground expertise to drive trade.”
