Commerzbank sells montrada GmbH
Commerzbank is selling its subsidiary montrada GmbH, which specializes in the processing of card payments, to the Dutch company Equens SE. All relevant contracts were signed today. It was agreed to maintain confidentiality on the details. The transaction is still subject to regulatory approval.
Commerzbank and Equens have also agreed on a five-year exclusive sales partnership for card-aided payment transaction products including the processing of cash withdrawals from ATMs for Mastercard and Visa cardholders. It comes into effect with the completion of the transaction. Based in Bad Vilbel near Frankfurt, montrada and its subsidiary BD-POS GmbH employ 60 staff. Together, montrada and Equens will process some 3.7 billion transactions per year.
