The areas of the environment and society are fundamental components of our corporate responsibility. We know that we can be successful only in and with a social and ecological system that is intact and sustainable. Commerzbank recognises its social responsibility, especially in the areas of education and sport, and it makes a targeted committed to local people through its sponsoring activities.

In addition to classic sponsoring, we place particular emphasis on the social aspect of sport. Here, we concentrate on the sport that is most popular with the German people: football. Support for work with young talent is particularly dear to Commerzbank. This is reflected in our central commitments – for example in the DFB (German football association) partnership and support in the DFB qualification campaign. Moreover, Commerzbank is an official partner to FUSSBALL.DE – the digital home of amateur football – and supports German football at grass-roots level, from district class to regional league.

Our commitment in sports is rounded off with the initiative "Das Grüne Band": Together with the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), Commerzbank annually awards prizes to 50 sport clubs that have been noted for their exemplary promotion of talented players and for their youth work – and this already for more than 30 years.
