In March 2020, Deutsche Börse Group launched the DAX 50 ESG. From the start, Commerzbank is included in the index of the top 50 companies.
The index consists of the most sustainable companies of the tree indices DAX, MDAX and TecDAX. These are first checked against exclusion criteria, such as violations of the principles of the UN Global Compact or activities in certain business areas. In a second step, a ranking is generated based on market capitalization and stock market value as well as the score received by the sustainability rating agency Sustainalytics. The 50 best companies identified through this process are represented in the DAX 50 ESG Index.
